Back when I was making games on Scratch & Turbowarp, I'd start a new project, go all on it and then weeks later start another project, move that motivation to that project while I gradually stopped caring for that previous project, and then weeks later start another project, do the same... it kept me always working on stuff that wouldn't even see the light of day, I started so many project but it's like I only ended up at least releasing 5-6 of them (and on a beta/alpha state!) to the public, and then never working on those unfinished projects again.
When I moved to the GB Studio engine, I still felt that urge of sidetracking and starting another GB studio project, I ended up starting 1 extra project but thankfully I kept working on Koppy and didn't go further on that new project.
Now I made myself a rule that I won't start a new game project until at least the final Demo of Koppy is finished! That's how I fought this bad dev habit. (Although I still do some sidetracking in other stuff)
