So here's the latest:
The release window is two weeks away and all the game is missing are about half of the CGs and the greater half of the music. I aim to have a final release date to announce by the end of this week.
As for the full game release itself...GameJolt may the only place that you can play it. Now that the game is almost done. it's a lot bigger so I visited ItchIO's web build uploading rules to see where I stood in terms of releasing there. Turns out...it's NOT in the game's favor:
The limit for games to be uploaded on ItchIO is 1GB. For web builds specifically...it's half that size. The demo was 445 MB.
ItchIO also has a file number limit - no game can have more than 1000 files in it. The demo only had 343, but the full game stands at 1059 and counting.
The full game is not only too large to be uploaded as a web build on ItchIO, but it also has too many files. The file increase is mainly due to the number of characters for which there are sprites. I would have to delete at least 4 characters from the game, as well as some of the music. As much as I understand and agree with ItchIO's reasoning for these limits, there is no way in hell I'm doing that (my ItchIO had decent play counts but the page itself is flopping anyways).
On GJ's side, I still plan to email the support team tomorrow even though the game remains unfinished (I plan to calculate estimates for the specs of the final game build now that all intended features are accounted for).
I will also calculate the number of demo plays to use in the appeal at 9pm tonight (3/14/2026, 9:00 USA central time) so if you wanna get a demo play in to help with it, today is your last shot!
I will update with further plans and information regarding the final release of the game after I receive a reply.
I thank those of you who have supported me on this site in some way, I hope you continue to do so, and I hope to tell you more news soon!
