Welcome to Hello Neighbor: Hidden Spirits, a fan game of the once popular indie horror franchise "Hello Neighbor". The release of the original game left the general public disappointed, so I took it upon myself to create my own take on the concept!

Theodore Peterson in this game isn't your typical Hello Neighbor AI. You have to treat him like a real human. If you treat him like a minor inconvenience, you'll never find out what lies behind that basement door.

His suspicion chance is 0% by default, but anytime you alert him and the suspicion meter goes up, so does that percent chance. The more you alert him, the more likely he'll go looking for you.

A little sneak peak to how the AI works in this game: The suspicion meter isn't just a number that determines when he switches to hunt mode. Every time he switches to a state, he has a percent chance to switch to Hunt mode.

I'm so used to it breaking that when it actually works like it's supposed to, I'm just like " H u h???" Of course, we still have to make the puzzles. But that's easy compared to the AI.

Be patient, my little ravens. For the time is near. >:)

I'm not kidding when I say this: I think the AI might be done. It does everything I want it to. It sets traps, does daily tasks, and even tries to outsmart you in chases. It's kind of a surreal feeling.

Added an actual shadow for the player. Now you won't be just an invisible ghost messing with Ted Peterson.

As you can probably tell, the game's page has finally had it's long overdue makeover! Big things are coming with this game, and I for one can't wait to show you all.

In case you didn’t catch me on stream about a week ago, I added a Phasmophobia-esc “random paranormal events” system. Every 5 minutes, you’ll experience anything from an object being knocked over, a door opening on it’s own, and even running footsteps.

Turns out the reason why the main map was so laggy was because a crap-load of lights were failing to cache the shadows because of overlap, so they were just switching back to dynamic shadows. But if I just set them ALL to dynamic, it fixes the FPS????????
