Project Atral: The Riddle of Durendare

There has been a debate about the ethics of AI Art and Speech. Therefor, as an honest and commited developer, i want to make an oath. (Please read the article below.)

I swear that Project Atral will never, in any build, be sold or accept donations. This project is for learning and creative exploration only. I take this promise seriously. I would rather start a completely new project from scratch than compromise this commitment.

I am strictly against cloning voices of real human voice actors for AI speech generators without their consent. I have never used this method and will never use it on purpose. However, I cannot fully exclude the possibility that AI-provided voices might inadvertently include cloned samples if the AI provider does not disclose this.

_____

The AI content in Project Atral is a temporary solution. I do not have the financial possibilities to pay for professional voice actors and artists. If any voice actor or artist is willing to cooperate with me, i'll be glad to accept that and therefor reduce the AI content in my project.

A few behind the scenes pictures for you, if you're curious.

I have worked a lot on the cleanup of the horse model. It's now ready for UV mapping and then texturing.

The cottages are now done and have been placed into their final positions. What's left to do is fill them up with furniture and make custom collisions.

I've achieved a lot today. The protagonist and player character - Mikhal - is inside the engine and playable! You won't see his head though, because of first person perspective. Time for a pause! My body hurts from sitting around for so long!

New features:

- Audio settings menu

- Simple day-night-cycle

Fixed problems:

- Double pause menu

- Oversized buttons

The widget of the audio settings menu works fine now, yet the settings themselves not. Working on it!

Part 2!

New contents:

- Floor texture for the insides of the cottages

- Game banner when starting up the project

I have reworked the foal model in Blender. It looks way better now. I only need to model the mouth, teeth and eyes now.

Placed a lot more trees and bushes. Placed the tiny hermit hut on Dan's Dot. Worked on the vegetation performance. Next up: texture performance (decreasing resolution, decal ivy instead of texture ivy on the stables and riding hall).

TORUN - the first stallion in the project! Now Rabica's not alone on the island anymore. His textures are work in progress, but i still wanted to see them in the engine before deciding how to enhance them. Torun is currently not playable.

Despite horrible neck pain, i'm working on the foal model, which is supposed to be in the herd of horses on the island.
