System Under Surveillance (SUS) is an upcoming stealth indie game with adventure and puzzle elements similar to known classics from the 80s and 90s. The game's visuals are also inspired by classic top-down retro games, but in an isometric perspective. In SUS, you will also explore the story trough an interactive pixel art comic book!

STORY SUMMARY:

After a suspicious car chase involving his adoptive mother, Adam finds himself alone in the middle of a dystopian city. He soon finds out that a mysterious governmental organization is after him, without knowing why.

While struggling to escape and survive, he finds a quirky cleaning robot labeled TURBO. Despite the name, TURBO is pretty clumsy and slow. Yet, with its big digital heart, the clumsy robot will accompany Adam in his journey, helping him discover the dark truth surrounding the accident.

Savor the story through an interactive pixel art comic book. Explore the game, find secrets, and uncover the missing pages to reveal who caused the accident and why deadly robots are chasing you in this dystopian city.

GAMEPLAY

In SUS you play as Adam and Turbo. They are lost in a dystopian city, trying to escape from an army of drones and evil robots.

You have no power over the enemies. Instead, use the environment and unique abilities of the two characters to evade; trick them, sneak past them, and hide from them. You will go through each level with the goal of finding the truth about why you are being chased by this mysterious organization.

PREPARE YOUR PROBLEM SOLVING ABILITIES:

System Under Surveillance has no combat system: you will have to use the problem solving abilities of the two playable characters to overcome challenges. You control:

TURBO, an old and quirky robot, who can:

  • hover above holes and reach new areas;

  • transform into a metallic ball, and travel through tight spaces and pipes;

  • escape enemies at high speed;

Adam, an ordinary yet highly intelligent and resourceful boy, who can:

  • take control of enemies, open doors, disable security systems;

  • use ordinary items to distract enemies;

  • gain power ups and use gadgets to solve minigames and puzzles;

  • and more...

Making a game is hard, time consuming, and doing everything alone is almost impossible.

So, we now work with a comic artist, who's helping us improve the game's storytelling while we focus on #gamedev.

I think the difference is basically night and day!

Hello! Been working on making #SystemUnderSurveillance look more desolate and dystopian, and I think details like this statue go in the right direction.

I would really like to hear your opinion. Do you think it achieves this goal? What would you change?

TURBO can now bring items to Adam and help distract enemies. 🤖

The two characters will help each other more and more as the player progresses in the game.

We teamed up with a new amazing musician to compose a vibing retro soundtrack for the game. And I'm loving it 😁 he really nailed the futuristic and solitary feeling we are going for.
