🛠 This is a solo project, developed with love and limited resources.
Please understand: there is no fixed schedule, no deadlines. I work when health, energy and life allow it – and always with care. If I need a break, I’ll simply let you know.

🤖 AI-assisted – but not AI-generated.
Some textures or base models were created with AI tools and then carefully optimized, reworked or replaced by hand. Think of it as using a hammer or brush – tools that help, but don’t replace my effort.

I’m building this game not for profit, but for passion. I want to offer something fresh to people who love mystery, storytelling and horses.
If that sounds like you – welcome to Project Atral.

Special thanks to: Cat E. - feedback giver & decision helper.

___________

2084 - A young man wakes up without memories as a ghost on the abandoned island Atral whose once proud buildings are now overgrown with ivy and rust. Mikhal sets out to discover the truth about the mysterious disappearance of the Durendare family, who once lived on the island. What happened to the inhabitants?

The only survivors are the feral horses, descendants of the noble breeding that was nurtured by the Durendare family. These animals hold the keys to the island's dark secrets. As Mikhal roams the ruins, he must put together the pieces of his lost memories and uncover the terrible fate of the Durendares.

Can you uncover the mysterious events and solve the riddle of the Durendare family before oblivion devours the last truth?

Development is currently done mostly in Blender and Substance Painter. Working hard on the player character and horse model!

I have worked a lot on the cleanup of the horse model. It's now ready for UV mapping and then texturing.

A few behind the scenes pictures for you, if you're curious.

I've made a horse statue: "founding stallion" of Stud Durendare. I'm not sure yet if i'll keep the penis or not. I was just trolling a bit there. But if you like it, tell me.

I have reworked Mikhals Rig and started to make textures for him. Please mind that his textures are still work in progress and not final. These are testing animations to test the rig and its functionality.

The hair cards and UV mapping of Mikhals 3D Model are done. Soon going to texture him.

I'm soon upgrading Cosmo (my Gaming PC) to the MSI GeForce RTX 3050 Ventus 2X XS, which has 8 GB of VRAM. My new RAM are also on the way: 32 GB. This gives me a few new resources for development (building lights, shadows, geometry and so on).

The unsolvable problem in the settings menu caused me to rework it. It's now only accessible by the pause menu. The settings menu got only slightly reworked. The "back" button is bigger and i had to put in a background.

I have to rework the toes and fingers of the main character model, but then i can texture him.

It was a sh!t ton of work to do that, but the settings menu and the main menu are now mostly working! In the main menu only "new game" and "quit" work so far. The closing of the settings menu is still buggy. Working on fixing it!
