What do you think?

My headcanon is that the bus drivers hate everyone due to the doors being in the middle and are planning your demise

And even if the game says they’re the happiest creatures ever I will continue to believe this

I just finished this

and oh my god

this is great, honestly.

There were a few bugs I found (which I mention in the stream and there weren't any after I stopped recording)

I thought the combat would get boring and tedious, since it felt that way the the Golems

(spoilers for the demo)

but the King Golem fight and Sul Omahn fight were actually really fun, which is weird since I don't usually enjoy turn based combat

And when Verity took over it was actually really off-putting and was really cool

Great job man!

I just played the demo and it was good. Although I did notice one small problem. I can save the game without the save point. Maybe I'm nitpicking too much, but overall the demo was good. Also how did you make the message sounds? They sound great and remind me of Undertale and Everhood.

Oh, I almost forgot. The music was also superb. I especially loved the overdriven guitar at the end :).

Oh my LORDS. This is such a cool idea and game and CONCEPT in general- I- AHHH.

The. The OST, the repeating symbol (i saw that scuff on the pavement, Lukelcs). The- the character designs and battles and IT REMINDS ME OF ONESHOT. HOOOOOOOLY.

The control and the- AND THE- AHHHAJSDK. I explored a lot of the options, but also tried to keep morals... You're forcin' me to abandon my ethics Luke lmao (/hj).

I love meta games. There aren't enough of em in my opinion. Lukelcs, you're doing amazing. If the demo I just played was only Chapter 1.. then. THEN.

And. And! I've played Memory and.. AHHH. You have improved so much in just- everything! You're doing amazingly! The plot is FANTASTIC AND. EUHGUJKJLJHKS.

Who GUIDES Verity?

Is it you?  Does she guide herself?  Is someone manipulating your choices
from the shadows?

Some combination of all three?  Which will emerge victorious?  

Only time will tell.

One hundred years ago, a mysterious calamity stripped thousands of their identities, left as blank slates (The Glitchless). 
Many were immune, but some were not.

Those who were not immune and had yet to be affected fled to the Haven, where they would remain for a century.

But somehow, the corruption found its way in.

Fleeing from their former home into an unknown world, join Verity and her friends on their journey to seal the three Gateways to the Unseen Plane, and restore things to their former ways.

But beware, this quest may not be as straight-forward as it seems.  
Is this even the right thing to do?

The final version will include :

-Multiple endings
-3 unique areas full of puzzles, combat, and entertaining characters!  They are:
   -The Sanctuary Basement (available in the current demo).
   -The Studio (teased in the pinned post on my profile).
   -HIS Palace.

-Hopefully a few moments that make you wanna cry.
-About 6-7 hours of gameplay.
-Some difficult moral decisions.
-If we ever saw a real train, would you ride it with me?

This game contains some flashing and pulsating patterns which may cause seizures and other undesirable effects for those with sensitive epilepsy.  If you are known to struggle with these issues, have someone else scout the beginning of the game for you to see if it’s something you could handle.  Proceed at your own risk, and please put your health first.  I may add a setting in the game that turns off some of the effects that are more likely to cause epilepsy issues.

The game currently contains a few minor uses of “damn” and “hell”.  The game contains elements of more serious themes such as death, and the final game will contain some pixel blood.  The game is generally recommended for those 14 and up.  This is not a kids game.

Q: When will this game fully release?
A: I’ve been working on the game for about 2 years now, and I’m less than halfway done.  I’m hoping I can finish the game sometime late in 2024, but it'll be finished when it’s finished.

Q: Will there be any updates to the game before the full release?
A: Yes :>

Q: How much will this game cost?  Where can I buy it?
A: I’m planning on selling the game on Steam and Game Jolt for $10.

Q: Can I help with the game?
A: When it comes to passion projects like this, I prefer to work alone, but I will need playtesters later in development.  I’ll update you all once I start looking. ^.^

Q: Who all is working on the game?
A: Just me.  I use a number of plugins, instrument packs, and programs (listed in the credits) but all the work of actually composing, spriting, and programming/cutscenes is all me.

Q: Can I make something with characters from GUIDANCE?
A: Yes, you are more than welcome to create fan-content of any kind.  I only ask you link back to the gamepage on your project page; whether that be an art post, video, or fangamepage.

Q: Can I mod the game and share my modded version?
A: You’re free to mod the game how you like, and use the existing game as a base for a fangame.  However, I’d have to ask you don’t simply reupload the entire game with a couple files swapped.  If you’re going to reupload a full working copy of the game, please make sure the changes are substantial, and it’s lacking much of the current games cutscenes and maps.

If you’re unsure something is ok to upload, you can ask me directly.  I’d recommend you do that anyways, as I’d love to see anything you make. ^.^

Naturally, the rules regarding linking to the original game page apply to modding as well.

Modding rules may become stricter once the paid version is released.

Q: What do you plan to do after you finish the game?  Will there be a sequel?
A: I have no shortage of ideas for games and project ideas, they practically infect me.  However, I do have a very specific idea for a DLC/Sequel to GUIDANCE I plan to make after GUIDANCE is finished.  It’s an idea that really expands on the story and does some really fun stuff, so it’s something I’m definitely planning on making.  That’s way down the road however.

Q: Do you have any other projects I can follow?
A: You didn’t ask this, but yes, I do.  I’m actually working on a series of FNAF-inspired games called “Hind Sight”.  They’ve been a fun and experimental creative outlet.  The tone is a bit different, but the Hind Sight games are still very much my style.  If that interests you, you can check them out here.

The new demo for GUIDANCE is finally here!

This is a massive content update, with several new areas, expanded gameplay, boss fights, new laughs and plenty of cutscenes!

#GUIDANCE is an original, meta, story-driven RPG.

I've decided that rather than putting a ton of effort into a side story demo, I'll instead focus on updating the main game, and re-releasing the Part 1 demo (which I planned on doing anyways)

I'll upload a video in the coming weeks about the demo

It's Level 1/1 of the new year.

Let's get moving! >:D
