So, based on the voting results, DropDash won, which means he will immediately appear in the game from the next update. The update will be released on August 1st, but don't worry, it will add 2 new zones 
I was planning on adding a knuckles cutscenes to the demo, but I think it might be better if you see tails' cutscenes only.
