Given the potential destruction that robots could cause, factories were always run by humans and were subject to external oversight to ensure that malicious programming or devices were never created.

No one was willing to trust the robot programming matrices with weaponry, but military applications were inevitable. Melding a robot with a surveillance drone proved very effective in a scouting role.
