How do I make point and click-ish mechanics in GameMaker Studio 2 (You know something similar to the doors and lights in FNaF).

So i wanna change room pressing an object but with a controller not with the mouse event

i know i can do it like

if (mouse_check_button_pressed(mb_left)
{
room_goto(room1)

}

But idk how to make that if i press the exact object it would work

I need help i just started using GameMaker Studio 2 and I'm trying to make a 2D platfromer with combat

The mechanic's i want to add:

-Double Jump

-Wall jumping

-Scrolling Camera

Also i want to learn GameMaker script and not DND I have conecpt for the game

Ok so ever since I finish my first real game I never got any work on the shooter and I don't know if I want to. The shooter has unique concepts involved and can help but It's just not something I want to do so I'm stuck, what should I do?

If someone is good at programming, they could help me with a unique project?
