What do you think?

Hello, I have played in this wonderful game on the ITMO GameDev day, could you please contact me, I want to help with development

Ancient Rus, 9th century. One moonless night, a grieving mother takes an enchanted sword into her hands and steps stalwartly into the Great Forest to find her kidnapped son and bring him home.

Will her grief and rage burn a way through the thorny, forgotten paths, infested by terrors unknown to man? #action #horror #roguelike

Intense Fantasy Violence

While I'm working on Kikimora's animations and enemy AI, behold another monster - Babaika.

What do you think of this monster's design? Do you like it or not? Please tell me in the comments to this post!

Kikimora was given textures and a skeleton. At first, I was afraid Mixamo wouldn't be able to handle her skeleton, but it did wonderfully.

Now you get to see Kikimora dance her heart out while she's waiting for her in-game animations.

TBD: her shawls.

Kikimora is finally getting a 3D model. Follow Ivana Kupala's game page to see this monster get her textures and animations!

A big devlog incoming.

First, I got to play with low-poly foliage I randomly downloaded from the net... and also UE5's atmosphere. Look at that fog👍

Second, we finally have basic controls! You get a gif of Oka running around and swinging her sword.

While the rest of Oka's controls are in the works, let's talk monsters.

Meet Kikimora.

And yes, my fellow Russian-speakers, that is text in legit Old Slavonic. What can I say, Your Honor? I'm a nerd. *adjusts glasses in an anime style*

I made Oka's shield and sword.

The shield has a classic Slavic knot design and is the same shield depicted on the game poster.

The sword's design was taken from a real sword called "Mech Druzhinnika" (Soldier's sword), found in an ancient grave in Kiev.

First Unreal Engine post! Set up the movement for the character and some terrain features. This is how the POV of the game will look.

While UE5 project is on its way, let's talk about the game itself. What will it be like?

Our protagonist has been given an epic cape! And also an armature, which I've used Mixamo for.

I already tried out some of the animations, and they look wonderful. Here you go - some epic screenshots and a cool animation render with cloth sim!

Oka now has a texture. I made her boots and gloves shiny, and you can see the ornaments in more detail on the second screenshot. Traditionally, they've been used to ward off evil.

TBD: armor texture, belts, shoulderpads, and red shawl.
