The best advice to give for new game dev is to start off small and simple. Be a part of hobby games or game jams is a great start to the get the feel of what making video games is all about and prepare of what to expect realistically.

#Devruary The advice I would give a new dev is pretty simple: the more you like the act of testing things, the better off your mental health will be on a project - you'll have to do a TON of it.

The advice I would give to a new dev is: don't chase trends. Make something YOU'RE passionate about. The game will be better when it has your heart put into it.
