#Devruary As a VNDev, I always plan my games as part of projects for which I have already made something else (like a video, comic, etc) to establish the "canon". It makes story building easier and I can leave little "easter eggs" for attentive players!

How I usually plan a game dev project by study tends of what the audience like about a game or dislike for improvement. Then apply them in the GDD to list the mechanic, difficulty and levels before adding the aesthetic as part of the gameplay.
