It's been a lot of work to make Unreal Engine 5 do various "2D Retro Effects" but there's progress made.
This one is actually manipulating a Paper Tilemap layer in real time, not a solid texture.










Combat isn't just about hitting hard—it's about how they react!
Testing hit animations, pushback, camera shake, and sounds in a basic arena to focus on juicy feedback.
If it works here, it'll shine with final assets!
