It's been a lot of work to make Unreal Engine 5 do various "2D Retro Effects" but there's progress made.
This one is actually manipulating a Paper Tilemap layer in real time, not a solid texture.










Combat isn't just about hitting hardβit's about how they react!
Testing hit animations, pushback, camera shake, and sounds in a basic arena to focus on juicy feedback.
If it works here, it'll shine with final assets!

Thinking about testing something with Unreal Engine 5, depending on if my prediction is correct, this remastered version might be the first game I make in Unreal Engine 5. Will post updates on this test in the comments of this post.
